Trust God, Love People

Stories of My Openhanded Faith

By Jenny Marrs

In this inspirational memoir, I ask: When you look back at the stories of your life, where do you see the markers of God’s faithfulness?

RELEASE DATE: OCTOBER 7, 2025

When I look at all the ways God has shown up in my life, I’m left with immense gratitude for a God who is always, ever faithful. Even as I have trusted that God was leading me, the big picture of my journey was often murky and unknown.

I

n Trust God, Love People, I open wide the doors to my life and my family’s home to share stories of how little steps of faith have added up to an unexpected and abundant life. You’ll ride shotgun next to me as I move to Bentonville, Arkansas, where I know almost no one, and slowly begin to put down roots. The sweet stories of how I met Dave and of our early days of marriage and first homes together are here, as are the candid pain and hope of our time spent waiting to start a family before joyfully welcoming our twin boys. I share intimate glimpses into our years-long fight to adopt our daughter Sylvie from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as behind-the-scenes details about how our work to restore old homes became Fixer to Fabulous.

Through it all, I’ve learned that God is trustworthy even in the moments when I feel fearful, worn out, or dejected. Trust God, Love People is a guiding principle in my life and serves as a reminder that steadfast trust in our faithful, loving God allows us to love others well. As we learn to take our next step in faith and love the people around us, we can walk confidently into adventures beyond our wildest expectations.

As you read the stories God has written in my life, I pray that you will take the time to pause and look back at your own story and marvel at your own markers of His faithfulness. Where has God met you in the past? What has He done that has astounded you? If you find yourself in the middle of your own long, dark night of waiting, I hope these stories can encourage your weary heart. If despair creeps at the door, remember: Our God never authors pain. He is only good. He is always faithful. He can be trusted. You, too, can trust God and love people.
